OMAHA, NE – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced its endorsement of Sen. Pete Ricketts to represent Nebraska in the U.S. Senate at a stop on the Chamber’s Free Enterprise Express Opportunity Tour in Omaha, Nebraska. Sen. Ricketts was also honored with the Chamber's Advocate for American Business Award for his commitment to advancing policies that protect free markets, grow the economy, and create opportunities for families, workers, and local businesses.

The U.S. Chamber endorses candidates for federal office who will support policies that drive innovation, grow the economy, and create opportunities for American businesses and workers.

Sen. Ricketts was joined by U.S. Chamber Head of Government Affairs Rodney Davis, U.S. Chamber Vice President of Government Affairs Thomas Wickham, and Greater Omaha Chamber President & CEO Heath Mello. The event was held at Blatt Beer & Table, which is owned by Flagship Restaurant Group, a business that employs nearly 5,000 workers across its restaurants in local communities.

“Sen. Pete Ricketts has earned the U.S. Chamber's endorsement for reelection to the United States Senate through his steadfast dedication to pro-growth policies and defense of the free enterprise system. Throughout his time in public service, Sen. Ricketts has worked to create an environment where businesses can invest, create jobs, and compete. We were proud to be in Omaha in support of his reelection and look forward to continuing our work together to advance free enterprise and strengthen America's economic future,” said Rodney Davis, Head of Government Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The national Free Enterprise Express Opportunity Tour is a six-week trip through 20 states and more than 50 events to make the case for free enterprise in communities across America and push back against growing support for government-directed economic policies that threaten economic freedom, opportunity, innovation, and growth.

The effort is part of a broader Chamber initiative, the New Fight for Free Enterprise, a multi-year effort to organize, mobilize, and make the case for free enterprise everywhere public opinion is shaped, public policy is made, and future generations learn what it takes for people and communities to thrive.
