ROBERT, LA – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Tangipahoa Chamber of Commerce recently hosted U.S. Representative Julia Letlow (R-LA-05) for a roundtable discussion in Robert, Louisiana with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law on July 4th. This forward-looking, pro-growth policy is vital to maintaining America's prosperity and competitive edge and will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.
We applaud Congresswoman Letlow for working to ensure that the constituents of the 5th District of Louisiana continue to benefit from long-term tax relief, fostering growth for workers and businesses across her district and beyond.
“The U.S. Chamber thanks Congresswoman Letlow for her dedication to advancing pro-growth policies that enable small businesses to thrive,” said Monique Thierry, Vice President of the Southwest/South Central Region at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “Her support of the One Big Beautiful Bill—including making the tax cuts permanent—demonstrates her commitment to economic growth and prosperity for communities across Louisiana and beyond.”
“We had the pleasure of hearing about her work on the Appropriations committee and learn from small businesses how the One Big Beautiful Bill has benefited their businesses,” said Monique Thierry, Vice President of the Southwest/South Central Region at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “Examples of how provisions in H.R. 1 on No Tax on tips, FICA tax credits and making the tax cuts permanent will be taken advantage of now that the provisions on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act are permanent.”
“Louisianans sent me to Washington to fight for them, and with the Big Beautiful Bill we delivered more opportunity and lower taxes for every American,” said Congresswoman Letlow. “The last thing small businesses need right now is a major tax increase. We made the tax cuts permanent and delivered new relief for job creators and workers alike – policies that will benefit Tangipahoa Parish and all of Louisiana.”
“The Tangipahoa Chamber was pleased to host a U.S. Chamber of Commerce Tax Roundtable featuring Congresswoman Julia Letlow,” said Melissa Bordelon, President and CEO of the Tangipahoa Chamber. “It was a valuable discussion focused on the recent House passage of provisions within the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and their significant implications for small businesses. The conversation between Congresswoman Letlow and our local business leaders, who shared their expertise on the challenges and opportunities facing their industries, was both timely and important.”
The U.S. Chamber’s tax roundtables are a part of its Growing America’s Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. To date, the Chamber has hosted over 50 tax roundtables, and these events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
