Welcome Message from the Chairman

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S.-Korea Business Council (USKBC) is comprised of major U.S. companies that are committed to doing business in South Korea. Since 1987, the USKBC has been the leading voice of American business in the U.S.-Korea relationship, promoting economic and commercial ties based on the foundations of the U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement. Our core mission is to foster better business and government ties and expand bilateral trade and investment to facilitate growth across all sectors including digital economy, healthcare, financial services, and energy.

The U.S. and Korea recently celebrated the historic 70th anniversary of the alliance in 2023, highlighting the strength of our security, economic, and technology partnership. Over the course of nearly five decades in the insurance industry, and three decades working on and living in Asia, I have witnessed the growth and resilience of the bilateral relationship and see opportunities to further deepen cooperation. As USKBC chairman, I look forward to advancing the council’s advocacy agenda and supporting an even more robust economic partnership in the years ahead. I invite businesses of all sizes and sectors to join us in furthering the council’s mission and expanding American trade and investment with Korea.
