WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced today that Latricia Boone has joined as Vice President to help lead the Equality of Opportunity Initiative (EOI).

“With nearly two decades of experience spanning corporate, government, and nonprofit sectors, Latricia has a deep understanding of how to build partnerships, engage stakeholders, and advocate for policies that have societal impact and drive American businesses forward,” said U.S. Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President Rick Wade.

“The Chamber is committed to ensuring all Americans have the opportunity to earn their success, rise on their merit, and live their own American Dream, regardless of the color of their skin. Fulfilling this mission demands we attract and retain the very best. We are thrilled to welcome Latricia, who brings a career-long commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion through strategic partnerships.”

Boone joins the Chamber from the Leadership for Educational Equity where she was responsible for their national partnership strategy and developing a diverse pipeline of civic leaders. A graduate of Howard University and Johns Hopkins University, she previously held positions at Sodexo as well as the National Urban League, the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities, and University of Maryland.

Equality of Opportunity
The EOI was launched in June 2020 to develop real, sustainable solutions to help close race-based opportunity gaps in key areas, such as: education, employment, entrepreneurship, criminal justice, health, and wealth. In July 2020, we developed an initial Equality of Opportunity Agenda to advance private sector solutions and best practices, scale impactful programs, and drive policy action at the federal, state, and local level.

The Chamber continues to partner, engage, and convene on these critical issues and has hosted over 100 events, meetings, and briefings with various stakeholders; kicked off over 10 Chamber-wide EOI initiatives; and endorsed 14 bills.

Last week the Chamber, in partnership with NACD, hosted an event on corporate board diversity, as part of our ongoing Equality of Opportunity in Action event series, which we launched in December 2020. To watch the event recording click here.
