All Americans should have the opportunity to earn their success, rise on their merit, and live their own American Dream. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Equality of Opportunity Initiative unites the business community around private and public sector solutions to some of the underlying challenges driving inequality of opportunity for Black Americans and other people of color in six critical areas: education, employment, entrepreneurship, criminal justice, health, and wealth.
On June 23, 2021, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce hosted the second annual National Summit on Equality of Opportunity, Moving from Conversations to Real Action. Viewers heard from leaders across the private and public sectors on challenges, successes, and best practices to chart paths forward to ensure equality of opportunity for all.
The U.S. Chamber compiled research to show the magnitude of opportunity gaps in six key areas. This data has informed our work as we continue to pursue targeted, data-driven, and sustainable solutions that will help deliver the American promise of equal opportunity to all.
