EDMOND, OK – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Edmond Chamber of Commerce recently hosted U.S. Representative Stephanie Bice (R-OK-05) for a roundtable discussion in Edmond, Oklahoma with local business leaders on the need to extend pro-growth business tax provisions before portions of President Trump’s 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) expire at the end of the year. Doing so will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.
“We are grateful to Congresswoman Bice for joining the U.S. Chamber, Edmond Chamber, and diverse local businesses for an insightful conversation on the impact of tax cuts and other crucial issues for Oklahoma workers and businesses,” said Monique Thierry, Vice President of the Southwest/South Central region at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. "It was clear from the conversation that tax cuts have an impact on businesses in Oklahoma. Her leadership is essential to the economic vitality of her district, and we are grateful for her commonsense approach to driving economic growth that will impact not just Oklahoma but the nation.”
“It was great to join the U.S. Chamber in Edmond this week,” said Congresswoman Bice. “We discussed the importance of expanding the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and supporting local businesses. We must continue to advocate for pro-America policies that will revitalize our economy.”
“We were honored to join the U.S. Chamber in hosting Congresswoman Stephanie Bice for a meaningful discussion on taxes and issues that directly impact the success and sustainability of our local businesses,” said Sherry Jordan, President and CEO of the Edmond Chamber of Commerce. “Bringing our business leaders to the table for open dialogue with our congressional representatives is essential to shaping policies that support growth, innovation, and economic opportunity in Edmond and across Oklahoma. We are grateful to Representative Bice for her leadership in Congress and also for joining us today for our Congressional Membership luncheon series with over 100 community leaders in attendance.”
The U.S. Chamber’s tax roundtables and business tour are the latest effort in its Growing America’s Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. These events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
