OCALA, FL – Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Ocala Metro Chamber & Economic Partnership hosted U.S. Representative Kat Cammack (R-FL-03) for a roundtable discussion in Ocala, Florida with local business leaders on the need to extend pro-growth business tax provisions before portions of President Trump’s 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) expire at the end of the year. Doing so will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.
Absent Congressional action, the country will see the largest automatic tax increase in American history. U.S. Representative Kat Cammack is on the frontlines, working to ensure that the constituents of the 3rd District of Florida will not face this massive tax increase at the end of 2025.
“The U.S. Chamber thanks Congresswoman Kat Cammack for her continued advocacy in extending key provisions of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, showcasing her commitment to driving economic growth and job creation in Florida’s third district and beyond,” said Clark Jackson, Senior Director of Regional Government Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “Making these pro-growth tax provisions permanent is essential to maintaining America's competitive edge and ensuring continued prosperity for American workers and communities. We are grateful for Congresswoman Cammack’s partnership on this critical issue.”
“Florida’s small businesses are the heart of our economy,” said Congresswoman Cammack. “I’m always glad to meet with local job creators and our Ocala Metro Chamber to hear directly from those on the front lines. The best tax policy doesn’t come from Washington think tanks; it stems from listening to the people building businesses and creating opportunities in our local communities.”
"As key provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act approach their expiration, it’s essential that policymakers and business leaders engage in meaningful dialogue,” said Tamara Fleischhaker, Interim CEO of the Ocala Metro Chamber & Economic Partnership. “This roundtable with Congresswoman Kat Cammack provides a valuable opportunity to hear firsthand how current tax policy is impacting businesses on the ground. By fostering open conversation, we can help inform thoughtful, balanced decisions that support long-term economic stability and growth."
The U.S. Chamber’s tax roundtables and business tour are the latest effort in its Growing America’s Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. These events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
