WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S.- Kazakhstan Business Council led its largest-ever business delegation to Kazakhstan this week, in a Trade Mission certified by the U.S. Department of Commerce.

“Central Asia, and its largest economy, Kazakhstan, is emerging as an increasingly strategic region for U.S. businesses.  Building on over 30 years of partnerships and more than $40 billion in direct U.S. investment in Kazakhstan, led by the energy industry, the U.S. business community is well-positioned for continued expansion,” said Khush Choksy, U.S. Chamber Senior Vice President for International Member Relations and Middle East, Central Asia and Türkiye. “This historic business delegation underscores the U.S. commitment to deepening ties with Kazakhstan. We welcome ongoing U.S.-Kazakhstan trade dialogue to enhance market access, prevent any intended consequences of U.S. sanctions and ensure Permanent Normal Trade Relations between our two countries.”

Held September 2-4 in Almaty and Astana, the Trade Mission consisted of 25 U.S. companies engaging in consultations with Kazakhstan’s business community and government to bolster U.S.-Kazakhstan trade and investment and help U.S. companies realize strategic projects aligned with Kazakhstan’s economic diversification and reform agenda.  Among the sectors of particular interest are critical minerals, financials services, food processing, technology and AI, logistics, and tourism.

The U.S. Chamber will follow up on this Trade Mission’s progress on the periphery of the UN General Assembly’s 80th session (UNGA 80) in September in New York City, where U.S. Chamber President and CEO Suzanne P. Clark will host President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev with leading U.S. CEOs.
