WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Chamber of Commerce applauds the Senate for its passage of the Paycheck Protection Program Extension Act. The following statement can be attributed to Neil Bradley, executive vice president and chief policy officer, U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

“This bipartisan legislation comes at a time when small business owners are still grappling with the economic effects of the pandemic and extending the Paycheck Protection Program, even for just a short time to exhaust existing funding, will help some of the small businesses that need it most.

“Data from last week’s MetLife & U.S. Chamber of Commerce Small Business Index showed that 59% of small businesses still feel as though it will take more than six months for normalcy to return. The U.S. Chamber will continue to work tirelessly to ensure small businesses receive the assistance they need to avoid permanent closure and continue to provide a livelihood for millions of Americans.”
