St. Cloud Area Chamber Gets Five-Star Accreditation
St. Cloud, MN – The St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce has received the highest possible accreditation.  The designation is determined by a committee made up of several members of the U.S. Chamber, the national parent organization that oversees local and state groups. All local chambers are graded on a four-tier scale. They can be ‘Accredited’ or ranked between three and five stars.  Besides St. Cloud, only one other Minnesota chamber has a five-star status. Nationwide, there are only 194. St. Cloud was chosen due to the impact it has on the city and region, transparent governance with strict financial controls, and the creation of valuable programming

The Chamber announced on Tuesday, March 12 that they have received a five-star accreditation from the United States Chamber of Commerce, the highest level available. Only 189 chambers nationwide — out of approximately 7,000 — and only four in New York State carry the honor.

Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce earns 5-Star Accreditation

The chamber maintained a 4-star accreditation for the 18 years prior.

After review by the United States Chamber of Commerce, the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce has again earned a five-star accreditation. Out of the 7,000 local and state chambers around the nation, only 211 chambers are accredited, said Moore Hallmark with the United States Chamber of Commerce. The Valdosta-Lowndes chamber is one of 14 accredited chambers in Georgia, and it is one of 125 five-star chambers in the nation. The accreditation process is a “very intensive, self-evaluative process that all chambers go through. It’s also a prestigious honor and distinction that signifies the high quality of expertise and strong leadership from the chamber and volunteer leadership,” Moore said. When chambers are being accredited, Moore said they are judged on five different areas of operation: governance, finance, human resources, government affairs, program development, communications, technology, facilities and benchmarking. “Accreditation is not permanent,” Moore said. “It must be examined and reissued every five years because five years from today, you may not be the same organization. In fact, you may be worlds apart from where you are today, and as representatives of the business and growth you must be ready to grow and change with it.”

AACCNJ becomes 1st African-American chamber in country to be accredited by U.S. Chamber of Commerce

The African American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey is the first chamber in the state — and first African-American chamber in the country — to be accredited by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, it was announced earlier this week. What that means, according to AACCNJ President John Harmon, is that the organization has been validated by the country’s largest chamber of commerce.“It really speaks to perception,” he told ROI-NJ on Wednesday. “The (U.S.) chamber is this traditionally non-minority entity, and we’re now recognized as best in class.“Hopefully, this should help us as we seek to foster relationship with New Jersey’s corporations, who, many of them, have longstanding relationships with chambers. And for them to know we’ve been accredited and recognized by (the U.S. chamber), I think that’s significant.”

The Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce's star-the fifth earned as a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce- is shining bright today. The Kearney organization is amoung only 125 U.S. Chamber members with five stars-- the highest distinction the national buissness group offers its 7,000 members. "It's a benchmarking to see that we're doing everything with the best practices. It shows us where we've been and where we are going" said Derek Rusher, Kerney chamber president and CEO, who spearheaded the accreditation effort. Rusher took over leadership of the Kearney chamber in January 2018. Due every five years, the accreditation materials had to be comlpeated by September 2018. Josh Erickson, the new chamber board chairman, said it was a challenging nine-month process, but Rusher and the chamber staff came through.

March 15, following the annual State of the City address at the Cunningham Center, the Greater Columbus, Georgia Chamber of Commerce announced that they had been awarded a five star national accreditation rating. The accreditation is awarded by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and has a very exclusive status with the award. Columbus joins only 124 other Chamber of Commerces around the country to earn such a prestigious award, according to the Columbus organization.

Gwinnett Chamber receives 4-Star Accreditation from national counterpart

The Gwinnett Chamber has picked up some recognition from its national counterpart for the local business organization’s policies and community efforts.The U.S. Chamber of Commerce gave the Gwinnett Chamber a 4-Star Accreditation. That is the second highest accreditation level that a local chamber of commerce can receive. The accreditation rating scale includes 3-Star, 4-Star and 5-Star accreditations, according to Gwinnett officials.  “The staff and board of directors are honored by this distinction. By completing this process, the Gwinnett Chamber demonstrates competency in nine core areas ranging from finance to facilities,” Gwinnett Chamber President and CEO Dan Kaufman said.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced yesterday that the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce has been reaccredited as a 5-Star Chamber. This places the Chamber among the 1 percent of Chambers of Commerce in the United States who have reached the highest level of accreditation, according to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The Bowling Green Area Chamber has maintained a high standard of excellence achieving accreditation without a lapse since 1973.

The Sauk Valley Chamber of Commerce has taken its U.S. Chamber accreditation to a new level. While the local chamber has earned national recognition for its work since 1972, it recently learned that it has reached 5-star status, a distinction that few chambers receive. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has given 5-year accreditation to 208 chambers, and the Sauk Valley Chamber is one of only 120 that has earned the coveted 5-star recognition.

Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce achieves 5-star accreditation

The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce recently achieved 5-Star Accreditation status from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. This is the second consecutive 5-star rating for the CDCC.  Accreditation recognizes excellence in chamber planning and performance. There are four tiers for this accomplishment: general accreditation, 3-star, 4-star and 5-star. Achieving this accreditation places the CDCC in the top 3 percent of all chambers in the United States. There are just over 7,000 chambers in the U.S., of which 208 are accredited. Only 120 have achieved 5-star status. The CDCC is the only chamber in Delaware to be accredited in any fashion.

Five years after its first application was rewarded with a five-year, 4-Star Accreditation, the Delaware Area Chamber of Commerce sought to apply for reaccreditation and was again recognized with a 4-Star rating. This impressive honor puts the Delaware Chamber and its 440 members among the top 3 percent of chambers nationwide. It also puts the Chamber among only three other accredited chambers in the state of Ohio. The determination is made by the Accrediting Board, a committee of U.S. Chamber board members and chamber executives from across the country.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has again accredited the North Country Chamber of Commerce at the highest level of five stars. The Accreditation Program of the U.S. Chamber is designed to define and assess excellence among chambers nationally. To achieve accreditation, a chamber must demonstrate that it meets a number of standards with regard to organization, finances, staffing and programs. Accredited chambers are then also awarded one to five stars in recognition of their performance. The five-star level is "reserved for those with exceptional effectiveness in areas such as government affairs, economic development, business support services and economic leadership in their communities," according to a news release from the North Country Chamber.

The atmosphere was celebratory at the Bristol Chamber of Commerce Wednesday when CEO and President Beth Rhinehart announced that the chamber earned its third consecutive 5-star accreditation.
