U.S. Chamber Letter on the Nomination of Paul Ray to be Administrator of OIRA

Thursday, November 7, 2019 - 1:30pm

Dear Chairman Johnson and Ranking Member Peters:

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce supports the nomination of Paul Ray to be Administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) in the Office of Management and Budget. We look forward to your committee advancing his nomination to the full Senate for confirmation.

Mr. Ray’s credentials and experience related to regulatory oversight and in implementing regulatory Executive Orders make him an excellent choice for leadership of OIRA. As the associate administrator, Mr. Ray has overseen the implementation of government-wide policies in the areas of information collection, privacy, and statistical policy. In addition to previously serving as associate administrator of OIRA, he was a counselor to the Secretary of Labor and an accomplished litigator in private practice specializing in administrative law.

The Chamber urges the committee to act swiftly on Mr. Ray’s nomination.

Sincerely,

Neil L. Bradley
