WASHINGTON, D.C.— The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) and Salesforce announced today that after a significantly successful pilot year, the Salesforce Fellowship Program will continue into 2021 and will now accept transitioning service members. In the past, the program was only available to veterans and military spouses.

“This program provides targeted experience that the military community needs to connect with high-demand, high-paying tech careers in the Salesforce ecosystem. Hiring Our Heroes will provide that launching pad for service members that have a desire to transition into the tech industry after the military,” said Eric Eversole, president of Hiring Our Heroes and vice president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Launched in 2020 as a pilot program, the Salesforce Fellowship Program offers military community members virtual 12-week internships with participating companies throughout the United States. The hands-on experience prepares candidates for a smooth transition into Salesforce careers. Participating host companies benefit by gaining access to skilled, certified professionals, while also developing a more comprehensive understanding of the veteran and military spouse job market.

In the program’s initial year, Salesforce fellowships saw an 87% job offer rate and an average starting salary of $87,000 for its graduates. Approximately 60 veterans and military spouses completed fellowships with 30 host companies in 2020.

"Salesforce is committed to the military community and helping transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses connect to career opportunities in the Salesforce ecosystem is our top priority," said Ann Weeby, head of Salesforce Military. "We're excited to continue to expand and grow on the success of the Salesforce Fellowship Program in 2021 through our partnership with Hiring Our Heroes."

Before qualifying for the fellowship, all applicants must earn their Salesforce certifications through Salesforce Military, a free, self-paced training program.
