U.S. Chamber Applauds Committee Passage of MAIN STREET Cybersecurity Act
WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President of National Security & Emergency Preparedness Ann M. Beauchesne today issued the following statement regarding the passage of the MAIN STREET Cybersecurity Act through the Senate Commerce Committee:
“We applaud the Senate Commerce Committee for passing this important legislation. Government leaders and industry partners have been working together for several years to craft dynamic risk management tools that support small and midsize businesses, especially through the NIST cybersecurity framework. This legislation would support enhanced cybersecurity and resiliency, which would help make businesses more productive and grow our economy. We encourage the Senate to pass this legislation.”
The Chamber recently released its 2017 Cybersecurity Policy Priorities, which includes support for the flexible industry-National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity. The policy priorities are available here.
