WEST VALLEY CITY, UT – Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the ChamberWest Chamber of Commerce hosted U.S. Representative Celeste Maloy (R-UT-02) for a roundtable discussion in West Valley City, Utah with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law on July 4th. This forward-looking, pro-growth policy is vital to maintaining America's prosperity and competitive edge and will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.
We applaud Congresswoman Maloy for working to ensure that the constituents of the 2nd District of Utah continue to benefit from long-term tax relief, fostering growth for workers and businesses across her district and beyond.
“The U.S. Chamber applauds Congresswoman Celeste Maloy for her diligent efforts to ensure Utah’s small businesses and working families benefit from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” said Nikkie Nguyen, Government Affairs Manager of the Western Region at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “The extension and permanency of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and pro-growth policies helps businesses of all sizes. Congresswoman Maloy’s commitment to support economic growth for Utah’s second district is unwavering.”
“The Trump Tax Cuts are about empowering hardworking families and putting more money back in their pockets,” said Congresswoman Maloy. “Small businesses also gain relief through a now-permanent 199A deduction, and workers no longer have to pay taxes on tips or overtime pay up to $25,000. At the end of the day, Americans will have greater financial freedom and breathing room to build a better future.”
“At ChamberWest, we believe that smart tax policy is essential to supporting job creation, business growth, and long-term economic vitality for the businesses that form the backbone of the westside,” said Barbara Riddle, CEO of the ChamberWest Chamber of Commerce. “We’re honored to host Congresswoman Celeste Maloy for this timely roundtable discussion and to provide our members with the opportunity to share their insights directly with a federal policymaker. The proposed permanence of the 2017 tax cuts and the broader implications of H.R. 1, The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, have the potential to significantly impact local businesses. It’s critical that westside business leaders have a voice at the table as these national conversations unfold.”
The U.S. Chamber’s tax roundtables are a part of its Growing America’s Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans.
