SPOKANE VALLEY, WA – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce recently hosted U.S. Representative Michael Baumgartner (R-WA-05) for a roundtable discussion in Spokane Valley, Washington with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law on July 4th. This forward-looking, pro-growth policy is vital to maintaining America's prosperity and competitive edge and will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.

We applaud U.S. Representative Michael Baumgartner for working to ensure that the constituents of the 5th District of Washington continue to benefit from long-term tax relief, fostering growth for workers and businesses across his/her district and beyond.

"Representative Michael Baumgartner understands strong economic growth depends on competitive and predictable tax policy," said Chris Eyler, Vice President of the Northwest Region for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “The One Big Beautiful Bill Act took the necessary step of avoiding the largest automatic tax increase in history, and it made permanent the pro-growth tax policy small businesses in Washington state need to thrive."

“It was an honor to recognize Barry Baker for his leadership in rebuilding the Spokane Valley Chamber,” said Congressman Baumgartner. “His commitment to our business community has earned him well-deserved respect, and his family should be proud. We’ve taken real steps to support job creators by locking in tax relief for small businesses—protecting pass-through deductions, resisting calls to increase the corporate tax rate, and expanding full expensing for investment and innovation. I’ll continue working with our local chambers and employers to push back against job-killing policies and fight for a stronger, pro-growth economy here in Eastern Washington.”

"The OBBBA delivers the kind of predictability and relief that small businesses in Washington desperately need in an increasingly challenging environment,” said Lance Beck, President and CEO of the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce. “By making pro-growth tax policy permanent at the federal level, this bill provides stability that allows our entrepreneurs to plan, reinvest, and grow with confidence despite the headwinds they face here at home. We are grateful for Representative Baumgartner’s steadfast support of our small business community and his vote to advance this critical legislation. Equally meaningful was the opportunity to stand with the Congressman as he honored longtime Valley Chamber supporter Barry Baker with a Congressional Record. Barry’s leadership in strengthening this Chamber, his dedication to our business community, and his lifelong commitment to the Spokane Valley are an inspiration. We deeply appreciate the chance to celebrate his accomplishments and the legacy he continues to build."

The U.S. Chamber’s tax roundtables are a part of its Growing America’s Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. These events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
