BLOOMINGTON, IL – Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the McLean County Chamber of Commerce hosted U.S. Representative Darin LaHood (R-IL-16) for a roundtable discussion in Bloomington, Illinois with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law on July 4th. This forward-looking, pro-growth policy is vital to maintaining America's prosperity and competitive edge and will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.

We applaud U.S. Representative Darin LaHood for working to ensure that the constituents of the 16th District of Illinois continue to benefit from long-term tax relief, fostering growth for workers and businesses across his/her district and beyond.

"The U.S. Chamber extends its gratitude to Congressman LaHood for his leadership in advocating for legislation that supports a competitive tax code, which in turn expands opportunities for small businesses and workers in Illinois and across the country,” said Kevin Courtois, Vice President, Great Lakes Region at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “By supporting pro-growth policies, Congressman LaHood is helping to build a stronger, more resilient economy that benefits all Americans.”

“Republicans delivered much-needed economic relief to the American people,” said Congressman LaHood.“The One Big Beautiful Bill Act is a generational piece of legislation that creates more opportunities to live the American Dream. Throughout the drafting process, I remained committed to boosting local economies across central and northwest Illinois. The Republican bill eliminates taxes on tips, overtime, and auto loans for hardworking Americans. This legislation invests in the future of Illinois agriculture and protects high-paying manufacturing jobs in Illinois’ 16th Congressional District. This is a win for our District and the American people.”

“Our members appreciated the opportunity to have dialogue with Congressman LaHood about the importance of pro-growth, pro-business tax policy,” said Charlie Moore, President and CEO of the McLean County Chamber of Commerce. “We are grateful for his leadership in advocating for a competitive business tax environment that allows our members to invest in the future of their businesses, employees, and our local communities.”

The U.S. Chamber’s tax roundtables are a part of its Growing America’s Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. These events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
