NAMPA, ID – Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Nampa Chamber of Commerce hosted U.S. Representative Russ Fulcher (R-ID-01) for a roundtable discussion in Nampa, Idaho with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in President Trump's Working Families Tax Cuts Act. This forward-looking, pro-growth policy is vital to maintaining America's prosperity and competitive edge and will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.
We applaud Congressman Fulcher for working to ensure that the constituents of the 1st District of Idaho continue to benefit from long-term tax relief, fostering growth for workers and businesses across his district and beyond
“The U.S. Chamber thanks Congressman Fulcher for his support of the Working Families Tax Cuts Act and his commitment to policies that help workers, families, and businesses succeed,” said Thomas Wickham, Vice President and Managing Director of Government Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “Congressman Fulcher understands that pro-growth tax policy gives local businesses the certainty they need to expand, create jobs, and invest in their communities. We appreciate his leadership and advocacy on behalf of Idaho’s First District.”
“This tax season delivered historic savings for Idahoans,” said Congressman Fulcher. “I am truly grateful to Tom Wickham, Vice President and Managing Director of Government Affairs for the U.S. Chamber, for joining us in Nampa to discuss the meaningful provisions achieved in Congress’s Working Families Tax Cuts Bill. This transformative legislation doubled the Standard Deduction, meaning Idaho families do not have to pay taxes on the first $31,500 earned; made the 20 percent tax deduction for small businesses permanent; and expanded small business expensing. Because the tax cuts in this bill are retroactive to 2025, the Treasury projects that family refunds will increase by an average of $1,000. I’m particularly proud that my bill, the KEEP Act—inspired by a town hall meeting in Sandpoint—to eliminate taxes on overtime pay was included, in addition to no taxes on tips. The One Big Beautiful Bill continues to provide needed tax relief for everyday Americans.”
“The Nampa Chamber appreciates the opportunity to bring together a small group of business leaders to provide input, as well as continue to learn about the purpose behind the tax provisions of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” said Mitch Minnette, President and CEO of the Nampa Chamber of Commerce. “Our business community values any effort that simplifies regulatory processes and strengthens Idaho’s economic competitiveness. We’re grateful for the chance to engage directly with stakeholders, Rep. Russ Fulcher, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to ensure local business voices help shape meaningful, practical policy. The Nampa Chamber looks forward to ongoing collaboration that supports a strong business environment and reflects the needs of employers throughout the Treasure Valley.”
The U.S. Chamber’s tax roundtables are a part of its Growing America’s Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. To date, the Chamber has hosted over 95 tax roundtables, and these events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
