SOMERVILLE, NJ – Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Somerset County Business Partnership hosted U.S. Representative Tom Kean (R-NJ-07) for a roundtable discussion in Somerville, New Jersey with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law on July 4th. This forward-looking, pro-growth policy is vital to maintaining America's prosperity and competitive edge and will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.

We applaud U.S. Representative Tom Kean for working to ensure that the constituents of the 7th District of New Jersey continue to benefit from long-term tax relief, fostering growth for workers and businesses across his district and beyond.

“The U.S. Chamber of Commerce thanks Congressman Tom Kean for his strong advocacy and vote in support of the One Big Beautiful Bill,” said Stephen McAllister, Vice President of the Eastern Region at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “His vote helped prevent the largest tax increase in history and directly benefited more than 96,000 taxpayers in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District by preserving the 20% pass-through deduction. Congressman Kean continues to be a steadfast leader committed to pro-growth policies and the principles of free enterprise.”

“By working to restore key provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and advancing much-needed SALT relief, I am delivering real results for New Jersey families and supporting the small businesses that drive our local economy,” said Congressman Kean. “I appreciated the opportunity to join both the U.S. & NJ Chamber of Commerce and New Jersey business leaders at today’s roundtable to hear firsthand about the challenges and opportunities facing Main Street. Lowering the tax burden, streamlining regulations, and expanding access to capital are essential to building a stronger, more competitive economic future for all of our communities.”

“The Somerset County Business Partnerships thanks the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for hosting their Tax Talk at the Somerset Business Hub!” said Chris Edwards, President and CEO of Somerset County Business Partnership. “This event was the perfect opportunity for business leaders to have a literal seat at the table with Congressman Tom Kean Jr. to hear about the impacts of the Big, Beautiful Bill on our community and discuss with him opportunities for future growth in Somerset County. I would like to thank Congressman Kean for being a tireless advocate for Somerset County and look forward to keeping this dialogue going.”

The U.S. Chamber’s tax roundtables are a part of its Growing America’s Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. These events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
