KENNEWICK, WA – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce recently hosted U.S. Representative Dan Newhouse (R-WA-04) for a roundtable discussion in Kennewick, Washington with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law on July 4th. This forward-looking, pro-growth policy is vital to maintaining America's prosperity and competitive edge and will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.
We applaud Congressman Newhouse for working to ensure that the constituents of the 4th District of Washington continue to benefit from long-term tax relief, fostering growth for workers and businesses across his district and beyond.
“Small Businesses in Washington state and across the nation were facing an enormous automatic tax increase at the end of the year,” said Chris Eyler, Vice President of the Northwest Region at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “As a small businessman himself, Representative Newhouse recognized the importance of not only preventing this increase, but creating tax policy that provides businesses with the long-term certainty they need to invest in their workers and operations.”
“I thank the Tri-City Chamber for inviting me to their Leaders Luncheon to discuss the many tax provisions we secured throughout the reconciliation process,” said Congressman Newhouse. “In spite of Washington state’s new budget which included the largest tax hike in state history, I was proud to vote to cut taxes for our business community to help spur job growth. Businesses in Central Washington will soon begin to reap the benefits of this law, and I look forward to working with the Chamber to make sure our region thrives in an economy where we put local businesses first.”
The U.S. Chamber’s tax roundtables are a part of its Growing America’s Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. To date, the Chamber has hosted over 50 tax roundtables, and these events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
