WRIGHTSVILLE, PA – Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and York County Economic Alliance hosted U.S. Representative Lloyd Smucker (R-PA-11) for a roundtable discussion in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law on July 4th. This forward-looking, pro-growth policy is vital to maintaining America's prosperity and competitive edge and will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.

We applaud Congressman Smucker for working to ensure that the constituents of the 11th District of Pennsylvania continue to benefit from long-term tax relief, fostering growth for workers and businesses across his district and beyond.

“As a member of the House Ways and Means Committee and a former businessman, Congressman Smucker understands how important it is for local businesses to have certainty in the tax code,” said Ryan Gleason, Senior Manager of Government Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “He introduced the Main Street Tax Certainty Act, which would make pass-through deductions permanent for small businesses through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, and supported other tax provisions. He is a true advocate for the Commonwealth. The Chamber is glad to work with him along with our partners at the Pennsylvania Chamber, Lancaster Chamber, and York County Economic Alliance.”

“When small businesses thrive, our communities thrive,” said Congressman Smucker. “Thanks to the Republican-led Congress and with President Trump in the White House, small businesses have the predictability they need to invest in their workforce, operations, and community. I was proud to sponsor The Main Street Tax Certainty Act, newly enacted with the One Big Beautiful Bill, is pro-growth policy will ensure small businesses keep tax parity with larger corporations. I thank the small businesses who attended the roundtable for being the engines of our local economies and the organizers for facilitating this great discussion.”

“We’re pleased to host Congressman Smucker and the U.S. Chamber to provide an opportunity for our local community to learn more about the future of U.S. Tax Policy, after the enactment of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” said Kevin Schreiber, President and CEO of York County Economic Alliance. “Congressman Smucker knows from personal experience that small business owners are the backbone of our economy, and he uses his position on the House Ways and Means Committee to advocate for small businesses in York County and across the 11th District.”

“We are proud to join the U.S. Chamber and our partners at the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and the York County Economic Alliance to highlight and celebrate the extension of pro-growth tax policies by Congress and are grateful to Congressman Smucker for his leadership in getting this critical legislation enacted,” said Neal Lesher, Director of Government Affairs at the Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce and Industry. “Provisions like bonus depreciation, the R&D deduction, and the now-permanent small business deduction will drive innovation and accelerate economic momentum across Pennsylvania.”

"We appreciate Congressman Smucker’s ongoing focus on supporting the small businesses that drive Lancaster County’s economy,” said Heather Valudes, President and CEO of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce. “His efforts to address tax policy, including through the Main Street Tax Certainty Act and specific provisions in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, reflect his continued engagement with our business community and our shared interest in fostering a strong local economy.”

The U.S. Chamber’s tax roundtables are a part of its Growing America’s Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. To date, the Chamber has hosted over 50 tax roundtables, and these events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
