WASHINGTON, D.C.— U.S. Chamber Technology Engagement Center Senior Vice President Tim Day issued the following statement in response to the FCC’s release of its Rural Digital Opportunity Fund Order.
“The Federal Communications Commission and Chairman Pai deserve credit and praise for proposing the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund that would advance economic opportunity, job creation, and civic engagement. All Americans need access to high-speed Internet and the connected economy.
“The Chamber believes technology-neutral federal funding should provide broadband to the unserved. We look forward to working with the Commission to achieve the goal of getting all Americans online and accelerating Internet speeds in rural communities to spur economic growth and job creation, and help small businesses grow and thrive.”
