Volunteer Expectations
All members of the Board of Trustees and Boards of Regents are expected to actively support and participate in the program’s recruitment and retention efforts.
Training Participation
Attend or facilitate at least two trainings before registration for their site closes
Retention
Contact individuals who attended the previous year and have not graduated
Trustees receive the list after summer sites
Regents receive the list a month before registration closes for their site
Recruitment
Recruit individuals who have not yet attended from the prospect list
Basic Program Info
Institute for Organization Management (Institute) is the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s professional development program for association, chamber, and other nonprofit executives.
Designed to enhance individual performance, elevate professional standards, and recognize association, chamber of commerce, and other nonprofit professionals who demonstrate the knowledge essential to the practice of nonprofit management.

Year-Round Programming
We understand that Institute is a big commitment, not only financially, but also with time away from your office and personal lives. If the on-site program is not the right fit, we encourage you to take advantage of the many additional year-round programming and learning opportunities, all of which are free of charge and available to everyone. Current attendees are also encouraged to supplement their on-site experience with these opportunities.
