TUSCALOOSA, AL – Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama hosted U.S. Representative Robert Aderholt (R-AL-04) for a roundtable discussion in Tuscaloosa, Alabama with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law on July 4th. This forward-looking, pro-growth policy is vital to maintaining America's prosperity and competitive edge and will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.

We applaud Congressman Aderholt for working to ensure that the constituents of the 4th District of Alabama continue to benefit from long-term tax relief, fostering growth for workers and businesses across his district and beyond.

“The U.S. Chamber is grateful to Congressman Aderholt for taking the time to speak with us today about the positive impact of the pro-growth tax policies in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” said Moore Hallmark, Vice President and Managing Director of Regional Government Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “We appreciate his continued advocacy for Alabama’s business community and his dedication to building a strong foundation for job creation and economic growth in the Fourth District and across the country.”

“It was great to be in Tuscaloosa and join business and community leaders alongside the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to discuss how pro-growth tax policy can drive investment, hiring and innovation in Alabama,” said Congressman Aderholt. “The One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB), passed by Congress and signed into law earlier this year by President Trump, is already delivering meaningful tax relief for businesses, allowing our small and mid-sized firms to retain more capital, expand operations, and better serve their communities. I appreciate the leadership of The Westervelt Company and all our local business participants for engaging in this dialogue about keeping America competitive and growing.”

“Businesses of every size depend on stability and certainty in tax policy to make long-term investment and hiring decisions,” said Kyle South, President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama. “By making the 2017 tax cuts permanent through the One Big Beautiful Bill, Congressman Aderholt has provided the kind of predictability that allows employers to plan for growth with confidence. We appreciate his continued leadership and commitment to fostering a strong, competitive business climate.”

“The ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL ACT of 2025 represents a transformative step forward for American manufacturing and innovation,” said Cade Warner, President and CEO of The Westervelt Company. “For Westervelt, the restoration of 100 percent bonus depreciation means we can reinvest in our operations more aggressively—expanding facilities, upgrading equipment, and modernizing production lines. All these benefit the communities where we operate and support jobs in the places we call home. The reinstatement of immediate Research and Development expensing allows manufacturers to deduct domestic research costs in the year incurred which is key for empowering expedient and efficient innovation in multiple industries, positively impacting internal and external stakeholders. As a 141-year-old, Alabama based business with a legacy of innovation and investment, this is immensely important to The Westervelt Company as we prepare for another century of success.”

The U.S. Chamber’s tax roundtables are a part of its Growing America’s Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. To date, the Chamber has hosted over 70 tax roundtables, and these events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
