To the Members of the United States Senate:

As the U.S. Senate considers the nomination of Ms. Arielle Roth to be Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Innovation, the U.S Chamber of Commerce offers the following observations. As demonstrated during her confirmation hearing and substantial experience serving on Capitol Hill and at the Federal Communications Commission, Ms. Roth is a highly qualified nominee whose deep policy expertise and experience working across the aisle will ensure the United States remains at the forefront of communications and technology policy. We urge quick consideration by the full Senate of Ms. Roth’s nomination and look forward to working with her upon her confirmation.

During her hearing, Ms. Roth demonstrated a commitment to maintaining and enhancing America’s technological leadership by connecting all Americans and unleashing the potential of artificial intelligence, while protecting our national security. She understands the appropriate role of government in closing the digital divide through the prompt and efficient implementation of the Department of Commerce’s BEAD program. Finally, we appreciate Ms. Roth’s recognition that empowering the private sector and enabling public-private partnerships are foundational to America’s success.

We look forward to working with the Senate and Ms. Roth to advance American leadership in communications and technology.
