Protect Lawful Streaming Act, Case Act, and Trademark Modernization Act are a trifecta of wins for America’s innovators, creators, and consumers.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — David Hirschmann, President & CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Global Innovation Policy Center, released the following statement in response to congress passing bipartisan legislation to protect intellectual property.

“The Chamber commends Members of Congress for approving legislation today that will provide law enforcement with additional tools to combat the large-scale theft of streamed content, allow individual creators and small businesses an alternative to expensive federal litigation when their works are stolen, and curb the abuse of our trademark system by those who file fraudulent trademark applications.

“Taken together, passing the Protect Lawful Streaming Act, the Case Act, and the Trademark Modernization Act of 2020 will enhance existing protections for our domestic artists, creators, manufacturers, and consumers, and help save countless American jobs.

“We deeply appreciate the leadership of Senators Graham, Tillis, Coons, Kennedy and Durbin, and Representatives Nadler, Jeffries, Jordan, Johnson and Roby for their dedication to addressing these important issues.”
