ROUND ROCK, TX – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce recently hosted Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX-17) for a roundtable discussion in Round Rock, Texas with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law on July 4th. This forward-looking, pro-growth policy is vital to maintaining America's prosperity and competitive edge and will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.
We applaud Congressman Sessions for working to ensure that the constituents of the 17th District of Texas continue to benefit from long-term tax relief, fostering growth for workers and businesses across his district and beyond.
“The U.S. Chamber appreciates Congressman Pete Sessions and the Round Rock Chamber’s efforts to ensure Central Texas small businesses and working families continue to benefit from the pro-growth provisions in the Working Families Tax Cuts,” said John Gonzales, Executive Director of the Southwest/South Central Region at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “Lower tax rates, spending cuts and streamlined regulations have had a meaningful impact on businesses throughout the 17th district. As a member of the Finance Committee and former local chamber chairman, Congressman Sessions remains committed to getting the federal budget under control and pro-growth policies that foster job creation and economic growth in Texas and across the country.”
“Last week, I had the privilege to meet with members of the Round Rock, Texas community to listen and understand not only the challenges to small businesses, but to provide some insight into the work I do in Washington, D.C. on their behalf,” said Congressman Sessions. “Recent policy changes will help individuals and business owners get one step closer to achieving the American Dream by allowing more money to be invested in themselves and the businesses they passionately believe in. Small business is the backbone of a capitalist economy, one that grows the workforce, and helps families create a brighter future for themselves and future generations. Our meeting allowed us to share ideas that I will take back to Washington to continue moving this economy forward.”
“Round Rock’s strong economy is powered by entrepreneurs and small businesses that are creating jobs and driving innovation in our region,” said Jordan Robinson, President and CEO of the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce. “We appreciate Congressman Pete Sessions taking the time to meet with our business community to share how federal tax policies could impact small businesses while also listening directly to local employers about their experiences on the ground. Conversations like this, supported by the U.S. Chamber, ensure the voices of local businesses help inform policy decisions in Washington.”
The U.S. Chamber’s tax roundtables are a part of its Growing America’s Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. To date, the Chamber has hosted over 85 tax roundtables, and these events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
