TO THE MEMBERS OF THE UNITED STATES SENATE:

The U.S. Chamber strongly urges you to support cloture on the motion to proceed to begin the process of considering the bipartisan infrastructure agreement, and will consider including votes related to this agreement in our “How They Voted” congressional scorecard.

We commend the bipartisan group of Senators who worked together for long hours and late nights for months to achieve agreement on this badly-needed infrastructure proposal.

This agreement includes significant investments for roads, bridges, technology, energy, water and wastewater, and climate resilience that will provide enormous benefits for American businesses, workers, and their families. This agreement is an important first step in the process, and we recognize revisions will be considered, debated, and voted upon. We urge Senators to vote yes so this process can begin.

We believe the Senate should complete work on infrastructure legislation before the Senate adjourns in August. We also call on the House to follow a similar bipartisan approach and take up the Senate legislation so that infrastructure legislation can be signed into law as expeditiously as possible.

Sincerely,

Jack Howard
Senior Vice President
Government Affairs
U.S. Chamber of Commerce
