The Honorable Rob Portman
United States Senate
Washington, D.C. 20510

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce supports S. 3057, the Synthetics Trafficking and Overdose Prevention Act of 2018.

S. 3057 would provide valuable tools to help close security gaps and protect the safety of Americans. This important legislation would help prevent the shipment of synthetic opioids into the United States through the international mail system. Advanced electronic data would allow the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to more effectively prevent packages containing illicit substances from entering the country.
