WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week the U.S. Chamber of Commerce launched a campaign opposing the Administration’s dangerous new proposal, known as Most Favored Nation pricing, which would impose foreign price controls on American drugs. The campaign asks Americans to tell the White House to reject foreign price controls on drugs and keep American innovation strong. Advertising for this effort is running on DC broadcast television, cable news and digital platforms, supported by a seven figure buy.

“The Chamber has long said that importing foreign price controls is dangerous policy and the wrong way to try to reduce drug costs,” said Neil Bradley, executive vice president and chief policy officer of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “The campaign launched this week by the U.S. Chamber highlights the Administration’s innovation-killing new proposal which would hinder research and development for life-saving treatments and cures, at a time when we need U.S. innovators to keep their focus on defeating COVID-19. The White House needs to drop the Most Favored Nation pricing proposal now.”

The Chamber recently launched its Discover and Deliver initiative to show what the nation’s brightest scientific minds and most innovative companies are doing to discover effective treatments and cures for COVID-19. This information is outlined in a digital map showing the 631 trials for COVID-19 therapeutics and vaccines occurring across all 50 states.
