WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Chamber of Commerce welcomes today’s completion of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. This achievement, resulting from the joint efforts of both the U.S. and EU governments, strengthens transatlantic data privacy and fosters greater international cooperation.

"The EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework is critical to returning legal certainty for U.S. businesses relying on the data flows that underpin the $7.1 trillion transatlantic relationship," said Marjorie Chorlins, Senior Vice President for Europe at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The completion of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework establishes a robust legal framework that addresses the concerns raised by the European Court of Justice. This framework will safeguard the privacy rights of individuals, while facilitating data flows which are the lifeblood of economic growth and innovation.
