To the Members of the United States Congress:

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce supports the compromise agreement forged by the leadership of the House and Senate Armed Services Committee on the “National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023.” This legislation would strengthen and advance the National Defense Strategy and ensure that unfunded procurement, research, and readiness priorities of the services are met.

We strongly support a robust defense industrial base and flexibility for federal contractors to provide the goods and services that the Department of Defense needs. Chamber members represent nearly all sectors of the federal contracting supply chain, from the smallest components to the largest weapon systems for the Department of Defense. The Chamber supports inclusion of the Water Resources Development Act, which will help modernize our port and inland waterways infrastructure. We also support extending authorizations for the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Coast Guard.

The Chamber supports the compromise agreement on the “National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023.”

Sincerely,

Neil L. Bradley
Executive Vice President, Chief Policy Officer, and Head of Strategic Advocacy
U.S. Chamber of Commerce
