WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Chamber issued the following statement supporting Doreen Bogdan-Martin’s Candidacy for Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU):

“The U.S. Chamber of Commerce strongly supports the candidacy of Doreen Bogdan-Martin to become the next Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). During a time of unprecedented developments in telecommunications technology, and as the COVID-19 pandemic has shown, advancing global connectivity has become more critical than ever before so that the world can continue to operate and meet the needs of the 21st century economy.

“Bogdan-Martin’s previous experience as Director of the ITU’s Bureau of Telecommunications Development, her career-long commitment to universal connectivity and resilience, and collaboration with diverse stakeholders and members of states make her an exceptional candidate. We are confident she will continue the positive momentum for global connectivity, economic growth and competitiveness across all sectors of the modern economy.”
