The U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee on July 19 voted to approve President Trump’s two nominees to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), William Emanuel and Marvin Kaplan. The committee held its confirmation hearing for the nominees on July 13, and its approval today will send the nominations to the full Senate for consideration.

As this blog has noted previously, since the start of the new administration, the NLRB has operated with a 2-1 Democratic majority that has continued with its decidedly labor-friendly agenda. That situation will not change until the president’s nominees are confirmed, which one hopes will happen as soon as possible. Only then can the Board start to restore balance to labor law.
