To the Members of the United States Congress:

`             The U.S. Chamber of Commerce urges you to support H.R. 3935, the "FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024."  This bipartisan, bicameral legislation would provide critical safety enhancements, modernize aviation infrastructure, grow the aviation workforce, and provide important congressional direction to the Federal Aviation Administration. The Chamber will consider including votes related to this legislation in our annual “How They Voted” scorecard.

`             H.R. 3935 would provide the FAA with $105 billion over five years to invest in equipment, operations, and personnel. The legislation includes policy reforms to uphold the United States’ gold standard of aviation safety, fund airports, and improve transparency at Department of Transportation and FAA. The legislation also supports deployment of sustainable fuels into the aviation industry and training for new pilots to meet growing air travel demand. Finally, the legislation would help integrate new aviation entrants, including unmanned aircraft systems and advanced air mobility into the national airspace safely and securely.

`             Congress must act on this legislation prior to the expiration of the FAA authorization on May 10.  Consideration of the multitude of non-aviation or infrastructure related amendments that could be offered to this legislation would imperil final action on this bill by the House and Senate before the deadline.  We urge the Senate to wrap up work on this legislation without undue delay.

Sincerely,

Tom WickhamSenior Vice President
U.S. Chamber of Commerce
