RE: WC Docket No. 17-108; Restoring Internet Freedom Dear Ms. Dortch: We, the undersigned organizations and trade associations, thank the Commission for taking a leadership role in restoring internet freedom. We believe that it is possible to have a free and open internet without treating broadband like a public utility under Title II of the rotary-phone era Communications Act of 1934.
Voters support self-driving vehicles and understand their benefits.
The U.S. Chamber's survey conducted by Morning Consult shows that voters support the use of self-driving vehicles and prefer a unified federal standard to govern their use. Tim Day, senior vice president of Chamber Technology Engagement Center (C_TEC), discussed the survey results today during his testimony before the U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection in support of self-driving vehicle legislation.

With 6 million jobs and 2.5 million job openings, America’s technology sector is driving economic growth, expanding global dominance in innovation and entrepreneurship, and putting Americans to work. Data centers, where data is stored and processed, are used by burgeoning technologies like drones and sensors to monitor crops and soil levels. Without these centers, we can’t power the innovations to keep our economy moving.
According to a new report released today by the U.S. Chamber Technology Engagement Center (C_TEC), the average data center adds $32.5 million in economic activity to its local community each year. The report, Data Centers – Jobs and Opportunities in Communities Nationwide, also reveals that during construction, a typical data center generates an additional $9.9 million in revenue for state and local governments.
